Is this a will?

No. Legamap is an information tool, not a legal instrument. It does not decide who inherits anything — it tells your heirs and your notary what exists and where. Use it alongside a will, not instead of one.

Do you store my passwords?

No, and we will not let you. Password fields do not exist in the product. Fields that detect an IBAN, a card number or a recovery phrase will refuse the input.

Can I use it for crypto?

Yes, and this is where the problem is sharpest. You record that a hardware wallet exists, which one, where it physically is, and where your recovery backup is stored — never the recovery phrase itself. That is enough for someone who knows what they are doing and useless to someone who steals our database.

What do my recipients see, and when?

Nothing, until the protocol completes and the undo window closes. Before that they only know they have been named as a Legamap contact. You choose what each recipient receives — one person can get everything, another only the property records.

Do my recipients know I named them?

By default, yes. Shortly after being added, each recipient gets a neutral notification: they are listed as a Legamap contact, no content is disclosed, and they can object. You can choose, per recipient, to tell them nothing until delivery instead — and change that choice at any time.

Why not just use Google Inactive Account Manager or Apple Legacy Contact?

Because those hand over accounts, not assets. Google will not tell your family that you hold a brokerage account in Ireland or a pension from a job in 2014. Different problem.

What happens if Legamap shuts down?

Your latest encrypted export is already on your own device — we send it automatically and repeatedly, for exactly this reason. The transparency page documents the wind-down procedure, and any sale of the company carries the delivery guarantee to the buyer as a contractual condition.

What if I get locked out of my email?

Registration requires a phone number as a second channel, and you can add a secondary email too. We verify contactability every year. Deliverability is a real failure mode and we treat it as one.

Which countries does this work in?

All of them. Legamap does not generate legal documents, so there is no jurisdiction to get wrong. The map is a search instruction your heirs hand to whichever notary or probate process applies where you live.

Can I pay now and lock in the founding price?

No. Legamap does not take money before the product exists — there is nothing to sell yet, and we would rather not hold your money until then. Prices go live together with the product; join the waitlist and you get them in one email that day, when the founding places open.

Can I delete everything?

Yes, from your account, immediately, including attached documents and backups within 30 days. GDPR requests go to the address in the footer.
